03/16/09Nikki Nemitz nabbed her third Big Ten Pitcher of the Week award of the season and second straight after going 2-0 with a save and 24 strikeouts at the Judi Garman Classic.
Nikki Nemitz posted a complete-game shutout, while Amanda Chidester went 4-for-4 and Bree Evans and Stephanie Kirkpatrick had two hits apiece in No. 10 U-M's 4-0 win over No. 12 Arizona.
Bree Evans, Angela Findlay and Stephanie Kirkpatrick each earned multi-hit games, while Maggie Viefhaus blasted a two-run bomb as No. 10 Michigan knocked off No. 6 Arizona State, 7-3.
Led by a combined 41 honorees from track and field, Michigan had 90 student-athletes from 10 varsity teams named to the spring Academic All-Big Ten squad.
